World Cotton Day on dated 7th October, 2021 celebrated Regional Cotton Research Station (RCRS), College of Agriculture (CoA), Navsari Agricultural University, Campus Bharuch, Gujarat, India.
More than sixty (60) members including students and faculty members of CoA and RCRS participated on this special occasion. On this special occasion Dr. D.D. Patel, Principal, College of Agriculture, NAU, Bharuch gave his introductory speech during inaugural ceremony.
Dr. Sharma (Professor & Head, Horticulture Department) and Dr. Pathak (Assoc. Professor & Head, Plant Pathology Department) from CoA gave their special speech and brief about the importance of cotton in the state and country.
Dr. K.V. Vadodariya, Head, RCRS delivered a lecture on “Awareness of World Cotton Day” and also gave the brief information regarding the different cotton activities viz., research development and extension on this important day.
During this session students were also interacted and solved the queries about cotton crop with the expert panel of college and research station. Dr. J.R. Pandya, Assistant Research Scientist, RCRS proposed a vote of thanks to all the participants during valedictory session.
After the completion of programme all the participants visited cotton field and faculties were demonstrated different cotton varieties and also identified of pests and diseases to the students.
